CDSGDC0609 - Clear Dollar Stamps Guest Designer Submission

I've been thinking about doing this for some time now, so here goes! This is my submission for the Clear Dollar Stamps guest designer challenge. Naturally, I had to use one of the adorable Charlie stamps. This set is Charlie Daisy. I embossed the image on watercolor paper, cut it out with my Cuttlebug and Nestabilities scalloped oval dies, and then colored it with my ZIG markers. For the sky I used watercolor pencil and an aqua painter, and then I sponged the edges with turquoise ink. I also sponged some green ink on the bottom edge by the grass. Both ovals are popped up on foam tape.

The papers I used are Basic Grey - I think from the Marrakech collection. I ran the quilty looking paper through the Cuttlebug with the Herringbone embossing folder because I wanted it to have some texture - like an old quilt. I have absolutely no idea where I got the ribbon but I'm thinking I picked it up at Archivers a few years ago. I'm a bit of a hoarder and often surprise myself a second time when I come across something cool I bought six months ago. :o) I guess it's my way of amusing myself!
I hope everyone is having a great week!
God bless!

Sneak Peek!

Here are a few new cards I'm working on for the shop. I was inspired by today's sketch challenge over at Split Coast Stampers. I used Penny Black stamps on the mouse card, and the cute little horse is made by Clear Dollar Stamps. I embossed the image on watercolor paper and then colored with my ZIG markers. Once I get the insides and envelopes done I'll have them up in the shop!
God bless!

I had a productive morning in the craft room today and got 7 new cards up in the shop. Here's a preview of a few of them. You can see the rest of them at MOUSEMOM40.etsy.com! I just ordered some new stamps from Penny Black and The Little Paper Shop too so be on the lookout for some new designs next week. Oh and I'm having a Stampin' Up! party tomorrow night so I'll have some more new designs out in a few weeks! Looks like the housework is going to have to wait - again! :o)

I wanted to share a few pictures of my garden too. I was out and about in the yard today and snapped some pretty pictures of my Korean dwarf lilac and my bleeding hearts. I hope you have a great day! God bless! Sue :o)

I'm Blogging Now!

I've decided to give this blogging thing a try so here goes! I put four new cards in my Etsy shop today. You can see them in the sidebar of this blog but posted a few pictures up above anyway. (I couldn't figure out how to get them below the text and hubby is sleeping - Eeek!). I hoped to get more cards done today, but the nursery was beckoning me so I ended up there dropping a bunch of $$$ on flowers for my garden. I didn't plant them yet though because we might get a frost tonight. Ugh. I'm ready for summer!

Anyway back to my cards. I really love the way the sand castle card turned out although I don't think it photographed very well. I used watercolor pencils on the background and the "sand" and then colored everything else with my ZIG markers. The sand castle stamp is from Clear Dollar Stamps and I added Stickles to it to make it sparkle. I used my Cuttlebug and the polka dots and swirl embossing folders for the dry embossed papers and the sandy background paper is from DCWV.

The get well card is simple but SO pretty. The flower stamp is by Stampendous and the Get Well Soon Sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps. I used lavender and pink card stock, some striped background paper and then added some dry embossed paper in a paisley pattern. I think my Cuttlebug was one of the best investment I've ever made. I use it a TON!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I'm in the garden tomorrow - after church of course. :o) I'll be putting new cards in the shop on Monday! God bless! Sue :o)
